Each year the North Georgia Trout Online (NGTO) members sponsor Kid's fishing day. On that day, three thousand trout are released into the river and the kids (under 16) can fish from 9 am until noon. The location was Garrard's Landing which is located on Holcomb Bridge Road as it crosses the Chattahoochee River.

At Valley Brook, we took 9 our kids fishing on April 17th. We left the church parking lot at 8:10 and arrived at Garrard's Landing shortly after 8:30 am. The truck with the trout had just arrived and they were stocking the river with trout.

We followed the trail thru the woods until we got to the river.

Our first fish was a nice rainbow trout.

Another trout was caught and was added to the stringer.

And some just waited for the big bite.

All of our fishermen worked so hard just waiting for a nibble.

We worked every inch of that river around the jetties.

At times it was crowded with lots of people but the weather was pretty.

Around 11:30, we called it a day since everyone was tired and hungry. We headed for McDonald's and enjoyed the cold drinks and good food.

This is my niece's first trout. She did well as did all the other fishermen.

It was a good day and a lot who went of the trip had never been fishing in their lives.
